Hey, so this is super cool.
Google has been collecting call and messaging data about who you talk to or send text messages to for years. There's no opt-out, no notifcation in their TOS they're doing this, and you can't see the results of that collection in Google Takeout.
You don't "have something to hide" when you put blinds on your windows or close the door when you're on the toilet, or wear clothes. Privacy isn't about having something to hide, it's not about keeping secrets. It's about being able to choose what you reveal about yourself, and when, and to who, and the other word we have for that is "dignity". Your inherent dignity, as a human being. Privacy is the agency you have over your dignity.

Iffy Books is a new little bookstore in philly seeking to share knowledge of hacking, free culture, gardening, zines.
Today I went with my friend to set up a Wemo D1 clone with another non-techie friend and we were able to get this chip to display a website! It was my friend's first time learning html and css, and as a designer it was a lot of fun for her. I enjoyed being able to learn a new board to use with the Arduino other than the circuit playground.
The guide zine is available for free (along with the zines for all the other workshops) if you want to try as well. It's still a work in progress since today's session was also a bit of debugging, but great fun!
Iffy Books will be soon to join Mastodon too (after a little persuasion :) )
I'm also very excited to learn about efforts to implement a mesh network for Philadelphia!
Multiple Windows is now in the #Lagrange dev branch. Not quite glitch-free, yet, but starting to work pretty nicely.
Needs some optimizations, though.
Been using spacemacs after a recent emacs config bankruptcy. I think I like it better than doom!
And after quite a bit of time, finally the next part of the pinephone camera series
I always enjoy reading malware and exploit analysis. This one is from a noob attempting to target the pinephone and similar, from the mobian blog https://blog.mobian-project.org/posts/2022/02/11/pinephone-malware-analysis/
